Yay! This past week I honestly crushed it! I took my probiotics every day at around 9 am, on the dot. I made it a goal of mine to stay disciplined and consistent with my habits. The past few weeks have been a bit rocky, but I really needed to have a solid week to jump-start future successes. Before when I was giving myself a lot of flexibility, I was excusing myself by saying “oh, it’s okay! I’ll start everything next week. I still have time!” But no, the more I push my responsibilities aside, the harder it will be to start. The initiation is the most important, yet difficult part.
I’m drinking as much water as I can. Recently, I have been hitting the gym more, especially since midterms are over. My schedule has not been this free since I think the summer! Everyone should really take advantage of the time they have available. Yes, a breather is pretty fine, but don’t let yourself get too lazy and that it’s exactly what I was trying to avoid! I wanted to utilize my time to get back into the gym and help improve my gut with some extra weights and cardio. I knew in the gym I would sweat a lot which would push me to drink more water. Drinking more water was definitely something I was struggling to do, so I needed an incentive. By sweating more, it would force me to drink more water. It was a win-win situation!
Due to all the working out, it actually made me want to eat healthier. I managed to eat a good portion of protein, greens, and healthy carbs for lunch and dinner. However, I still listened to my body. If I was craving some sweet, I would eat it— of course, an appropriate amount of dark chocolate or dates for example. I allow my body to speak to me, not my eyes. And to be honest, I have been losing some weight, not drastic but a pound or 2 a week. I can honestly say that I am very happy at where I am at right now, both physically and mentally.
